Attending a Sikh Turban Tying Ceremony is a special occasion, and it’s important to dress appropriately and respectfully. Here are some general guidelines on what to wear to a Turban Tying Ceremony:
1. Respectful Attire
Choose clothing that is modest and covers your shoulders and knees.
Avoid wearing revealing or flashy outfits out of respect for the religious and cultural significance of the event.
Since you will be sitting on the floor during the ceremony, wear clothing that allows for ease of movement and sitting comfortably.
2. Head Covering (for both men and women):
It’s customary to cover your head as a sign of respect when entering a Sikh Gurdwara (temple) or attending a Turban Tying Ceremony. You may choose a scarf or a head covering that compliments your outfit or one will be provided at the Gurdwara (temple)
3. Remove Shoes:
Upon entering the temple, please head to the shoe room remove your shoes. We remove our shoes as a sign of respect.
